Our English courses are most suitable for international students who come from a non-English speaking country or speak English as a second language and are looking to improve their vocabulary. Depending on your current speaking ability, you can enter the course anywhere from beginner to advanced.
Our English course covers the four macro skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will be tested and counselled when you first enrol to determine your needs, your goals and to plan your study pathway. You will then be placed into a level from beginner to advanced that is suitable for you.
The course focuses on:
- Building fluency and accuracy in spoken English
- Understanding native and non-native English speakers
- Expanding your vocabulary
- Developing skills and confidence to use English outside the classroom.
Typically, students wish to improve their English quicker to move to a VET or Higher Education Qualification upon completion. However, you may wish to complete the course as a stand-alone course.

We provide our business courses over three campuses in Brisbane and South East Queensland. The General English course is available to study at Spring Hill, Coolangatta and Southport Campuses.
Course length: 1-68 week course (includes academic holidays)
Full time: 20 hours per week. Students are not expected to complete additional study however, we
recommend at least 2 hours per week of “other study” comprising of self-study or group study.
